○ Moab can be a good base camp, with grocery and restaurants readily available. Getting to Arches, Canyonlands, or Dead Horse is relatively easy from there, and is the best town to stay in if you're planning on staying for several days.
○ The desert's weather can shift suddenly and without warning, from one extreme to another. Be ready for anything. Don't rely on forecasts exclusively.
○ The UV index is extremely high on sunny days, even when it's cold. Bring sunscreen and a hat.
○ Most trailheads have nice facilities, but the water isn't readily available. Bring your own in an easy to carry container.
○ Parking may get tricky on weekends - we saw the park fill up fairly early.
○ The park is really big, but you can see a lot of the main attractions from the comfort of your car (or with a quick stroll). Be prepared for crowds there. If you go off onto the more distant trails you will find more isolation.
○ Going in the winter offers a very different experience, with snow on the arches and an easier time spotting larger wildlife. We'll go back, too, so don't worry!
