○ Different camps offer different activities. Find the camps that offer the activities you most want to do for the best experience. Some specialize in finding big cats and others offer helicopter tours or even up close picnics with elephants.
○ A travel agent can help set up reservations, especially if your trip is complex like ours. We visited three different camps and had to take small airplane transfers between each one, and having an agent set things up saved us a lot of time.
○ Choose the right time to go based on what you are most interested in seeing. Going during peak times will ensure you see lots of wildlife but you will also have to pay more. We went just after peak and the start of the rainy season, so prices were much lower but the weather was still great.
○ Going on safari via jeep is tough on the body - there are many bumps along the way, and the heat can be extreme. Bring lots of long sleeve shirts to protect your skin (or plenty of sunscreen) and hats!
General Overseas Travel Advice...
○ Visit a travel clinic for vaccines and good medical tips.
○ Make sure you have a visa for the countries you are visiting and the dates you will be there.
○ Insure your trip to avoid nasty surprises.
